About Pertubuhan Seni Muzik Jazz Pulau Pinang (Penang Jazz Society)
Penang Jazz Society was born in 2009 when a few jazz enthusiasts got together to start an informal group to promote jazz in Penang. The group was called The Penang Jazz Community (PJC) and it began organizing jazz concerts, performance, jazz talks, workshops and jam sessions. This movement was very active till 2012.
In 2016, the movement was rejunvenated and formally registered as the Pertubuhan Seni Muzik Jazz Pulau Pinang (Penang Jazz Society), Penang's very first jazz society dedicated to promoting jazz through performance, education and community engagement.
